CBSE Board Exams 2025: Class 10 & 12 Attendance Guidelines

Discover CBSE's latest attendance rules for Class 10 and Class 12 students appearing in the 2025 board exams. Learn about the attendance relaxation criteria, and key deadlines for students and schools.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has made it mandatory for students in Class 10 and Class 12 to have at least 75% attendance to be eligible for the 2025 board exams. Schools have been directed to strictly follow this rule and ensure that students and parents know its importance.

However, CBSE allows some exceptions for students with valid reasons, such as medical emergencies, family tragedies, or participation in national or international sports events. Students can apply for attendance relaxation, but they must provide proper documents.

CBSE has set a minimum attendance requirement of 75% for students appearing in the Class 10 and Class 12 board exams in 2025. Schools must keep track of students’ attendance and report it to CBSE.

Once attendance data is submitted, no changes will be allowed. Schools failing to maintain proper attendance records may face action during CBSE inspections.

Students who fail to meet the attendance requirement without a valid reason may not be allowed to sit for the board exams.

CBSE allows students to apply for attendance relaxation up to 25% (i.e., up to 50% attendance) in certain cases. Here are the valid reasons and required documents:

2. A medical certificate from a Government doctor 3. All related medical reports (X-rays, prescriptions, etc.)
